Mother’s Day is right around the corner, and here at kuddly, we wanted to make sure you’re not scrambling last minute to find the perfect gift.
And while we do have a list of kuddly’s best-selling gifts for mothers, being a Mum myself, I know that the best gift a Mum could ask for is some quality time with her family!
So, keep reading for our list of 5 fun things to do with your Mum this Mother’s Day!
1. Go to the theatre (or movie night at home)
Whether your Mum loves a good film or live on broadway, this is one way to put a smile on her face!
Make sure to go all out on snacks and to pick a show that you know she would love. Mums spend so much time sacrificing their needs for their families, so bonus points if you pick something with her favourite actor (Hugh Grant or Idris Elba, anyone?)
2. Make a scrap book
Take a walk down memory lane and get crafty at the same time! This is a great opportunity to look through old photos and remember all the amazing things your mother has done for you.
You can make individual books or one big “family” album to revisit every time you come home! It’s a fun activity that can also serve as a bonding experience.
3. Set up a spa day
Whose Mum couldn’t use a little relaxation? If you can’t spring for a trip to the day spa, that’s no problem!
Just head to the pharmacy to get some self-care essentials. A couple of face masks, a manicure kit and some nail polish will make for a lovely, relaxing afternoon!
For an extra-relaxing vibe, try placing a few drops of eucalyptus essential oil into an aromatherapy diffuser. It’s a fantastic way to set the zen mood.
4. Throw a pizza party
We’re not talking about delivery! Making your own personal pizzas is a total blast and it comes with a tasty reward at the end. Have fun getting creative in the kitchen, then sit down and enjoy a lovely dinner together.
Make sure to grab a nice bottle of red wine and if you’re feeling extra Italiano, watch a film set in Italy afterwards! Eat, Pray, Love, anyone?
5. Do an exercise class together on Mother’s Day
Whether your Mum loves dancing or yoga, this is a great way to spend some quality time together.
If it’s not safe to do a class at this particular time then get active outside! Go for a hike or a bicycle ride. You’ll increase your happy hormones and have a good laugh at any mishaps that are sure to happen.
Spend time with your mum this Mother’s Day
At the end of the day, it’s important to remember that every Mum is unique! If you’re struggling to think of something to let her know how special she is to you, try just asking. Surprises are great, but it’s also important to listen and make her feel special.
